Shining Nikki (闪耀暖暖 Shǎnyào Nuǎn Nuǎn) is a 3D mobile dress-up game developed by Papergames (previously named SuZhou Nikki Co., Ltd). It is the fourth game in the Nikki Up2U series, succeeding popular mobile dress-up game Love Nikki, and was released on July 5, 2021.
Pre-release[]

The social accounts for the Global version of Shining Nikki went live on April 16, 2021, with pre-registration opening up on May 7, 2021. The closed beta (Android-only) for the global server accepted applications from May 9, 2021 to May 13, 2021. 1,000 (later increased to 2,000) applicants were chosen for the closed beta, which ran from May 18, 2021 to May 24, 2021.
On June 16, 2021, Shining Nikki became available for Early Access in Canada on Android devices, with the opening of Server 1: Flowerland. The global release date has yet to be announced, but it will arrive soon after the Early Access server as the game's second server.[1]
On July 5, 2021 at 19:00 (UTC-7), Shining Nikki's global server had its official launch.
Plot[]
Being the successor of Love Nikki, Shining Nikki acts as its sequel as well. In order to prevent a future where Miraland is destroyed by the Ocean of Memories, Nikki travels back in time to Year 0 in a structure called "the Ark." Her mission is to stop Leonid, the legendary designer who she believes is responsible for Miraland's destruction.
Gameplay[]
Similarly to Love Nikki-Dress Up Queen!, Shining Nikki is a dress-up game with RPG elements. The players play as themselves who were summoned by Nikki to her inner world through the power of the Gate of Heart. The player uses Nikki as a model through various styling battles while wearing a variety of clothing obtained through gameplay (some of which make up a set) and with the aid of "Designer's Reflections". The Designer's Reflections are cards based on the designers of sets, which the player can upgrade, rank up, and awaken to strengthen the cards' power in styling battles. Additionally, through the Reflections, the player can unlock dyed clothes, personal information about the designers, and stories of the designers related to the set's creation.
There are four types of stages: Main Story, Challenge, Mind Maze and Time Corridor. The Main Story stages tell the main storyline. The Challenge stages are extra stages in the Main Story which tell stories about the side characters that were not usually involved in the main storyline. The Mind Maze stages explore the history and backstories of the main characters. Within each Main Story chapter (except the first chapter), the player obtains clothing item recipes through passing stages which are used to craft an R set, and within the Mind Maze stages, the player receives recipes to craft an SR/SSR set. To unlock the next chapter in either the Main Story or the Mind Maze, the player must craft these sets. Time Corridor stages explore historical stories and unlock UR sets to craft. Other common methods to obtain clothing items and sets are through purchasing them in the Apple Federation Apparel Group shop, participating in the Diamond Arena, and investigating various designers for the Shining Pictorial magazine through the Designer Intel Hub.
There are two permanent pavilions available in the game held in the Gate of Heart, which are the Sea of Mystery and Sea of Fantasy pavilions. In both pavilions, there are rewards ranging from R to UR rarity. The Sea of Fantasy pavilion also contains reward items that make up sets and the sets' Designer's Reflections, ranging from R to UR rarity.
Terminology[]
The Ocean of Memory: A place where all human emotions and memories across the universe were stored.
The Ark: A structure which sails on the Sea of Memory and connects it with all human worlds. It holds all the archives of the designers (including the Designer's Reflections) and the inspirations of the designs. Siblings Aeon and Marina live in it and work as its administrators.
Designer's Reflections: The memories of the designers. Each Reflection has the capability to evolve into an independent entity and control a human's mental world if it is powerful enough.
Concepts: Equip to Reflections to increase their styling power. Equipping all concepts from a set creates a Resonance bonus.

Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan[]
There are two separate servers for this version. Players with user IDs beginning in "1" will play in the first server (一區), while players with user IDs beginning in "2" will play in the second server (二區). Players can choose which server to play in when they start their game. The servers are also named after locations in Shining Nikki, with the first server being named after Lodden City (洛登城) and the second server named after Qingyun City (傾雲城), known as Cloudcrest in the official English translation.
Mainland China[]
The Mainland Chinese Beta test ran from June 17th to July 1st 2018, This was the first beta test for Shining Nikki.
There are a total of seven servers for Mainland China: two for iOS, five for Android. It had been ranked as the top ten most profitable mobile games in Mainland China since its release. It had sales promotion collaboration with KFC,[2] ASUS Laptop, Lux, and Urban Revivo.
South Korea[]
The social accounts of the Korean version of Shining Nikki went live on September 3rd, 2020. The game's beta ran from September 24th to September 30th, 2020.[3]
On November 5th, 2020, the game was announced to be closing due to controversy. Players were unable to make in-game purchases after November 6th, 2020, and the last day of service was December 9th, 2020.[4]
Japan[]
The social accounts of the Japanese version of Shining Nikki went live on January 6th, 2021. The game's beta ran from January 21st to January 27th, 2021.
Vietnam[]
The social accounts of the Vietnamese version of Shining Nikki went live on October 24th, 2023, uses Facebook and Google to bind an account.
