Time Corridor is part of the Start Journey solo feature in Shining Nikki. In Time Corridor, stylists learn about myths and legends from Miraland's past in order to craft corresponding UR sets and Designer's Reflections.
Gameplay[]
Time Corridor is split into seasons, each with four components. For every chapter, there is a prologue and an epilogue, as well as a set of around 7 to 11 story stages and a set of 6 Challenge stages. The stylist must first read the prologue, then can read through the story stages, then the challenge stages and epilogue. Story stages do not require stamina and do not involve styling, and challenge stages require stamina and have both a story component and a styling challenge, and offer rewards.
By completing the challenge stages, the stylist will gain season-specific currency used to craft the corresponding UR suit along with various Main Story and Apparel Store items. One item in each of the sets will be obtainable by finishing the story stages in the chapter.
5 challenge attempts are added at 5:00 every day. Up to 15 attempts can be stored. Each attempt at a challenge stage costs 5 Stamina.
Seasons are permanent once added to the server, and the sets can be crafted whenever.

In a room in Lodden, Nikki wakes suddenly, startling Momo and the player. She says that she's been having strange dreams and was dreaming of a beautiful dress, along with a familiar stage and ruins. Nikki says that she vaguely remembers someone saying that all possibilities are between the stars. Nikki tries to remember, but Momo brushes it off, reminding her that they're going to see the lunar eclipse show at Lodden Theater that day. He says that since she worked very hard to get the VIP tickets for the immersive experience, they should leave now so they aren't late.
Star Sea Dream Memory 1 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
Under a starry sky, Nikki, Momo, and the player are watching the lunar eclipse along with everyone else in the audience. As the shadows cover the moon, everything seems to pause except for the violin onstage, before the entire sky is lit up in a blinding instant. Countless stars appear, trailing and dancing. This is not the theater, but rather something else. The player suddenly realizes that Nikki is gone. A girl is there who looks like Nikki, but she isn't - she's Nikki before all of their adventures. The player asks if she called for them, and she nods. They then ask about Nikki, and the memory of her says that Nikki is still in her dream. The player asks if they are in the Ocean of Memories, and "Nikki" confirms this, then saying that the Ocean of Memories will soon be chaotic and it will flood Miraland, ending civilization. She then says that the player is the only one who can stop this from happening along with Nikki. The player asks what their connection is, and "Nikki" says that together they will reach the end of fate. The player is still confused, and "Nikki" simply says that the stars are the answers, and the player needs to light them up to learn what happened before the New Era. "Nikki" then disappears.
Star Sea Dream Memory 2 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
In the dark, vast ocean, Leonid and Nikki are at his observatory, with Miraland sunk deep in the distance. Leonid does not care about Miraland, and says that annihilation is the only answer, and fate is predetermined. His pen draws trails in the stars, and he says that despite the countless possibilities in how the stars fall, they will always eventually be destroyed. Leonid then looks at Nikki and says that he's seen the ending except for a small, unpredictable factor. She is hurt, and can barely stand, but her eyes are still full of light. She tells Leonid that as long as there's something unpredictable, there can still be hope. He says that the unpredictable factor is like dust among the stars, and so she will experience countless failures again and again to save Miraland. He asks if she really wants to continue, and without hesitation, Nikki says yes. He tells her to go and awaken the factor then, and he will be waiting at the observatory. She says goodbye, addressing him as "Teacher", and embarks on a long journey once again. Before leaving, she hears him tell the player that they will go to the end of fate, as the opening of the Gate of Heart may be the beginning of many variables.
Star Sea Dream Memory 3 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
Nikki has arrived on the Ark, but Momo has fallen unconscious from the shock. Aeon asks Nikki if she is ready, and she says yes, because even if it leads to other star trails, it'll still bring her to the end that Leonid wrote, and she wants to change everything. The star trails intersect, each connected to a different universe. She asks why Momo is still asleep, and Aeon says that the journey from Miraland to the Ark must have been too much for him, but he's trying to help him wake up. Nikki decides to leave him there instead of bringing him on the star trails. She begins to walk on the net of stars, thinking that at the end, all the previous failures will feel like a long dream, because she will succeed this time.
Star Sea Dream Memory 4 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
Nikki's first attempt failed, and Miraland is sunken into the Ocean of Memories. It shines like a star, then fades into dust, leaving only a memory that returns with her to the Ark. She never wants to experience that destruction again, and wonders what she is doing wrong to fail every time. Nikki tells herself to not be afraid since this is only the first time, and to try again. Momo is still unconscious, but he is smiling in his sleep. Nikki asks for him to wait for her to show him a brand new Miraland, where they will go to a BBQ restaurant. She then hopes that everyone will wait for her, so she can bring them back to another sunny day in Miraland. She walks onto the star trails again, certain again of her success.
Star Sea Dream Memory 5 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
Nikki has walked on the star trails so many times that she does not know what day it is, but thinks it is spring when she returns to the Ark. Aeon has found a way to wake up Momo, but Nikki isn't happy like usual. She thinks that if Momo wakes up, he'll definitely want to join her in her dangerous quest, and she doesn't want him to experience the sadness of the destruction of Miraland. She thinks that he would be happier staying asleep. Nikki then says that she dreamt a lot lately, of fighting for BBQ with Momo and her parents and sister, Yoyo. She thinks that since she's just an ordinary girl, she should maybe take Leonid's offer and return to her normal life, forgetting Miraland. However, a voice inside of her tells her to not give up, since maybe, just maybe, she can find the unpredictable factor this time to prevent the destruction of Miraland. She tries again.
Star Sea Dream Memory 6 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
In every attempt, Nikki fails, and Miraland is destroyed in a different year every time. Time doesn't exist on the Ark, and she wonders how many times she has returned there. Aeon asks her if she wants to continue, since Leonid said that the ending is inevitable. Nikki reminds him that Leonid also said that if she pays a sufficient price, she can change the future. Aeon asks if she knows what to do, and Nikki says she is still searching for it. She feels hopeless, surrounded by her memories of Miraland's destruction. She asks herself over and over if the new Miraland even exists. She's not sure anymore, and can no longer confidently say that she will succeed. However, she does not give up, walking into the stars again and again, and has grown used to the destruction. Aeon asks if she's sure that she wants to continue, and she says she must, since she doesn't know what else she can do.
Star Sea Dream Memory 7 | n/a | n/a | Star Sea Memory (Story)
On one of the many trips between Miraland and the Ark, Nikki loses her diary, and with it, count of how many times she has failed. She falls to the ground when she returns to the Ark, not out of pain or sadness, but from exhaustion. She used to dream of a gorgeous stage when she first arrived in Miraland, but now only dreams of darkness. She wakes up on a calm, blue sea, and her memories emerge from it, traveling through time and space. Miraland once brought Nikki happiness, but also despair as it sank. She watches her memories, as if they've been extracted from her head and are no longer hers. The memories begin to condense into stars, finally lighting Miraland's silent sky. Leonid had told her that she needed to use something of equal power to light up the night and awaken the unpredictable factor. She always thought this power needed to be found through constant attempts, but realizes it came from countless failures, constant retrospection, and experience. She wonders if it is the Power of Memories. Nikki hears a voice and turns around to see Leonid, and he asks if she wants to keep trying. She recalls Miraland's first destruction, when he asked her the same question, and gives him the same answer: yes. Leonid looks at her, and draws a small star trail with his fingertip, lighting up the sea of stars. The unpredictable factor has appeared.

Nikki is behind a red curtain and feels disoriented, since she was just watching the show in the audience. She looks around and realizes she is not in the Lodden Theater, but rather in another, familiar one. She can see the audience through a gap in the curtain as the host introduces the play: Candy Witch and the Star Sea. He says that the Star Sea dress is a gift from the Goddess of the Starry Night to Miraland, and the show begins. The curtain opens, and the spotlight is on Nikki. The fifth and final act is called The Birth of the Goddess of the Starry Night. The instruments all fall silent, and the choir grows louder, soothing the audience and the actors. The divine envoy in white robes stands in the audience and stares at Nikki as a platform rises in front of her. The actors look in the same direction and begin to kneel and pray. The envoy says they will find peace after war and miracles after destruction as they witness the birth of the Goddess of the Starry Night. Nikki also stares at the high platform, but then an actor tugs on her clothes. He tells her that it's her cue, and she needs to put on the costume of the Goddess of the Starry Night. After she changes, an inexplicable force guides her to the high platform. All eyes are on Nikki, full of expectation and hope for the Goddess ending the war and pain with a sacred dance. Nikki slowly raises her arms, and then the spotlight comes down, fulling everything in front of her with blinding white light. Momo calls out for her, and she wakes up, now in the audience instead. He tells her that the play is about to end, and she realizes that it was all just a dream.

The player says that they heard Nikki's voice just now, and "Nikki" says that those are the memories she left between the stars. The player then realizes that this sea of stars is Nikki's memory. They ask who this "Nikki" is, and she does not answer, simply gazing at the sea of stars. She says that she has all of Nikki's memories before she met the player in this sea of stars. "Nikki" says that she had been looking for that factor to save the world, and finally lit up this sea of stars after countless attempts, finally awakening new hope. Her gaze flickers, and she finally sees the light at the end of the darkness. She wonders if the fate of destruction has really been changed. The player asks if the current Miraland will be destroyed, and "Nikki" smiles sadly, asking them if they would like to see the destroyed Miraland.
Star Sea Dream End 2 | n/a | n/a | End (Epilogue)
"Nikki" shows the player the ruins of the theater in Cicia after the destruction. The player asks why they are there, and "Nikki" explains that the Nikki they know saw the Star Sea for the first time there in the year 680. It's hard to imagine when looking at the lonely ruins. The player asks what the story is behind the dress, and "Nikki" says that it was made from memories in the sea of stars. The player asks if she called them there to tell them, and "Nikki" explains that it's because they may change the star trails, since they can light up the sea of stars. She says that the sea of stars are in those forgotten memories, and the stars on the dress are lit by countless memories. It represents an awakening hope and a new dawn.
Star Sea Dream End 3 | n/a | n/a | End (Epilogue)
Even when the moonlight disappears, there is still starlight to bring hope. "Nikki" tells the player to go back, since Miraland needs them. The player asks where she is going, and "Nikki" stares off into the distance, smiling, her dress the only speck of color in the destruction. She tells the player to not worry, since they will meet again. Her smile slowly dissipates into a light that traverses the ruins like a lost firefly. The destroyed world blurs, then disappears. Everything feels like a dream. The player wakes up in the bustling theater, the lights shining warmly. As they see everyone so happy, they wonder if everyone will disappear yet again, just like they have millions of times before. Nikki asks the player what's going on, and they feel dazed, "Nikki" and the real Nikki blurring in their mind. Momo asks why they both fell asleep despite how expensive the tickets were, and the player said they just had a dream. Nikki says that she remembered when she first met the player at the Gate of Heart, and she dreamt she was performing onstage. It was fun, but she was nervous since she wasn't with the player. Nikki then lowers her head, seemingly upset. She asks if the player had a nice dream, and they can choose to say it was or it was not. Either way, the white moonlight once again covers Miraland, and the sky is full of stars. Nikki says that the stars don't look as bright when the moon comes out. They overhear passersby talking about a girl they saw dancing at the top of the tower, wondering if she was a performer or a goddess. They say her dress shone brighter than the stars. Momo wonders if it's part of the show, and Nikki says it must be, since no goddess would go to the top of a tower just to dance. The player wonders if the goddess wanted to stand on a high place and look at the world, and Nikki is confused. The player says it's nothing, and the three of them go out to eat. Meanwhile, at Lodden's highest spot, the figure in the purple dress doesn't leave, and the ornaments on her dress turn into stars. A diary entry from Nikki appears onscreen saying she wants to stand at the highest spot of the city to take another look at Miraland so she can always remember how beautiful it is. |

Loen, a volunteer, welcomes Nikki, Momo, and the player to the Snow Eagle Revolutionary Force Memorial Hall, where many tourists are gathered despite the freezing cold. Loen explains that the hall is based around a legend of the North Kingdom, which is why it's so popular. Then, he motions to a palace in the near distance, which belonged to the former ruler of White Rock City, who governed with an iron fist. A poet named Eagle wrote a song that inspired the people to act, forming the Snow Eagle Revolutionary Force, which marched from Cangyu City to White Rock City to overthrow the ruler. Since North Kingdom has always been ruled by the idea of survival of the fittest, the Snow Eagles remain a very popular part of North history. Suddenly, Tang Hupo appears as a volunteer, enthusiastically saluting someone called Yunikina. She explains that Yunikina was the most famous female general in North history, said to have wielded a legendary sword. She was the leader of the Snow Eagle Revolutionary Force. They walk towards the hall, which Loen explains has a main and side part. The main hall is dedicated to the Snow Eagles, while the side hall is dedicated to Yunikina.

Nikki and the player open the door to the hall, but instead of an exhibition, they find themselves in an endless snowy tundra, the door disappearing behind them. Instead, a rusty sword is wedged into the cold earth, which Nikki remembers as the same sword she saw in a Mirage when Zoey described the Sword of Legend. She walks up to the sword and touches it. The sword transforms under her touch, the rust gone, revealing a blue emblem of a snowflake. The player says that they think the sword is asking them to pull it out, and together, they do so. It glows brightly as they pull it from the earth, and suddenly, they are enveloped by a snowstorm.

The snow and icy wind pelt their faces. The faint sound of sad singing gradually becomes clearer, and they decide to go check it out. A crowd has gathered nearby, singing around a coffin. Each one leaves a fleur-de-lis behind. A young girl with golden hair asks them if they are there to mourn, holding a blue sword and a bouquet. Nikki nods, and the girl gives them each a flower, saying that Eagle loved fleurs-de-lis. Nikki places her flower on the coffin, but then notices a piece of paper inside: "To Yunikina and our snowy plains." Nikki wonders if the girl they just saw was Yunikina. The girl points her sword toward the sky, and commands the crowd to not forget Eagle's sacrifice, to instead fight for freedom for White Rock City. The people cheer and clap for her, chanting for freedom for the Snowland.

After the poet's funeral, Yunikina summons a young man, who introduces himself as Jack. He tells Nikki and the player that Yunikina is busy because they just had a very fierce battle, before asking where they're from. Nikki says that they're admirers of Yunikina, which pleasantly surprises Jack. Nikki asks where they are right now, and he says that they're in Cangyu City, preparing to march to White Rock City. Since they were in the memorial hall in White Rock City, she theorizes that they need to return to White Rock City to return to the present. She asks if they can travel with the group, and he says it's fine. He takes them into his tent, where two others are already staying: Rush (the tall one) and Ivan (the kid). Jack says they're all rookies. Rush invites them to come sit by the fire, since they don't seem used to the weather yet. Nikki asks if Ivan's also a member, since he looks shockingly young, but the boy says he's 16, so he doesn't want to be treated like a child. He used to live on the ruler's farm, but there was a poor harvest, and they would have starved if not for the Snow Eagles. Rush used to be the ruler's hunter, and almost became a slave for not turning in enough wolf fur. However, they also joined because they admire Yunikina, especially Jack.

Despite the cold, the soldiers seem unaffected. Jack, Rush, and Ivan talk about preparing soup that night with the food they scavenged, and Nikki admires their survival skills. Jack says that it's nothing, since the real skill is fighting in battles, like Yunikina. He wants to fight alongside her as soon as possible. They all see Yunikina as their savior, their light in the endless darkness. Jack says that boot camp is over, and they're allowed to do whatever they want as long as they don't bother the nearby villagers. Nikki decides to check out the kitchen. Later, around the bonfire, Nikki and the player admire the beauty of Snowland, despite the cold. Rush offers Nikki soft ale for their send-off, since the recruits will arrive in Frost Rock City tomorrow, so they will soon join the battle. Jack is incredibly excited to fight on the battlefield for the first time. Nikki wishes them the best of luck.
Snowland Song Memory 5 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
Nikki opens her eyes to a gray sky and a sharp headache. Jack is glad to see her awake and limps to her through the crowd, disheveled. She asks what happened, and he says that they fought fiercely in Frost Rock City, but their squadron got separated, and they're now trapped in this valley. Nikki asks about Ivan and Rush. Ivan is okay, but Rush died to help them escape. Nobody cries in the cold wind. The soldiers all seem discouraged despite Jack's attempts to boost morale. One soldier gloomily says that Yunikina may have abandoned them to return and serve the ruler, but Jack brushes it off. Ivan cuts them all off, saying that they're all going to die here. He seems to see everyone as an enemy, and continues, yelling that they're all so naive, since if they hadn't joined the Snow Eagles, they would all be fine. Jack says that they vowed to become respected heroes, but Ivan says that being alive is much more important. Jack tells him that they're not just fighting for themselves, but for the future. Ivan's eyes are filled with conflicting emotions, and he slowly comes to a decision. Ivan turns around and runs into the blizzard, disappearing.
Snowland Song Memory 6 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
Heavy snow begins to fall, and everyone is quiet, even Jack. They all seem like they're waiting to die. Nikki tells Jack that Ivan will be okay, but he doesn't respond. Suddenly, they hear a noise rapidly approaching - the clatter of horse hooves. One soldier sees the flag of the Snow Eagle Revolutionary Force, and shouts that Yunikina has come to save them. Everyone picks up their weapons, fighting spirit restored. Later, back at the camp, their squadron is still quiet. They seized Frost Rock City, but two-thirds of the Snow Eagles were killed. Each number means that a life was lost. Jack stares blankly at the Snowland, no longer smiling. Nikki asks if he's okay, giving him his favorite canteen, a gift from Yunikina. His hand trembles as he takes it, and it clatters to the ground. He apologizes slowly, saying he should be happy since he survived and won, but he's afraid. Nikki sits beside him. Jack says that Ivan died despite his best efforts; they found him buried in the snow outside the valley. He asks if they're really heroes.
Snowland Song Memory 7 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
Nikki and the player go to sit around the bonfire. The familiar faces sitting around it are now gone, and everyone is sad. Suddenly, a soft song resounds in the silence. Yunikina, still in her armor, walks toward the fire, singing the mournful song - the elegy of the Snow Eagles. The soldiers hum with her, brought to tears. She asks Jack if he is afraid, and he raises his head, looking at her in awe. She tells him that they only arrived in time because they saw the light of a signal flare. That flare was from Ivan, who had been killed by their enemies shortly afterward. He chose to sacrifice himself to save the others, for the future. Yunikina says that death is unavoidable, and she is afraid of it too. However, to protect their own freedom, they must fight for it. She gives him her canteen, and tells him to not blame himself, because the deaths were her fault.
Snowland Song Memory 8 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
The loss doesn't demoralize them, and they continue marching to White Rock City. The ruler sends all of his men to eliminate the Snow Eagles, a last ditch effort to keep the city under his control. Yunikina tells the Snow Eagles that they have a disadvantage in terms of manpower and weapons, but can rely on their knowledge of the terrain and weather. She seems resolute, and says it will be a fierce battle, even tougher than Frost Rock City, but is the only way to win. The ruler has kept his troops in the city for years, so they don't know much about the terrain. Therefore, they will attack and pretend to retreat, so they can lure the enemies to the Snowland. Thunderstorms and rain will act as divine punishment against their enemies. After the meeting, the participants leave with their orders and begin to prepare. The atmosphere is solemn and anxious. Jack, an ordinary soldier, has no preparations to do, and so walks out of the camp and looks out at Snowland. Yunikina asks him if he misses his friends, startling him. She says she also wants to see the Snowland and remember her friends who are no longer with her. She smiles faintly, and asks if he thinks her cruel, since the soldiers following her into the Snowland are doomed to die. Jack says he doesn't think that, and that she's actually the best bait to lure the enemies. Yunikina still seems hesitant, and Jack tells her that without her, he would have died long ago. He was a shepherd for the ruler, whipped whenever he was unhappy. Without the Snow Eagles to save him, he would have been whipped to death. Yunikina's eyes shine, and she apologizes to him. Later, the thunderstorms raging on the Snowland create a chaotic battlefield. Yunikina leads her troops to the center of the Snowland, and pulls the Sword of Legend from the ground to lure the enemy. She remains calm, but cries silently.
Snowland Song Memory 9 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
After this battle, White Rock City will be seized, and the tyrant will be overthrown. Many villagers come to bring the troops supplies. Jack tells Nikki to stay behind, as she can enter the city after they capture it. He seems excited, saying he hasn't laughed this much in a long time. Some children put flowers in Yunikina's hair, and they seem hopeful for the future as well. The children share what their dreams for the future are excitedly. They begin to sing Eagle's song, a song that's normally sorrowful, in cheerful voices. Jack smiles even wider, and says he thinks he finally understands. They never could enjoy freedom before, and he never saw smiles like that when he was a child. But now, under Yunikina, they have hope for a better future. They fight so that every child can enjoy the freedom to sing. He says goodbye to Nikki, saying he will see her in White Rock City.
Snowland Song Memory 10 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
The battle lasts for three days and three nights. Yunikina's forces take the last fortress, and open the gates of White Rock City to the outside world. Everyone is singing songs of freedom and wearing fleur-de-lis on their chest. The fleur-de-lis are in memory of the fallen soldiers. Many died in this battle, including Jack. He was shot by an arrow, sacrificing himself for the army's advance. He had said he and his comrades wanted to be heroes so they could bring freedom to all. They did it, and will be remembered in the songs of freedom forever. Nikki asks the player where they think Jack would want to be now if he were alive. The player says that he would always want to be smiling in a lively crowd. They decide to go to the plaza, the most crowded place in the city. Everyone there is singing, dancing, and playing instruments. Everyone feels a mixture of sadness and happiness. In the middle of the plaza, the people place flowers atop the fallen statue of the ruler. A girl with a bouquet gives Nikki a fleur-de-lis, and she holds it tightly. She says that Jack finally understood what he was fighting for, but couldn't be there when they won. The player says he must be happy to be reunited with Rush and Ivan. They decide to go meet Yunikina.
Snowland Song Memory 11 | n/a | n/a | Snowland Memory (Story)
Yunikina stands before a grave outside the city in the golden light of the sunrise. The war is finally over, and snow covers the bodies of the soldiers, bringing them eternal peace. Yunikina says that when spring comes, the brightest flowers will bloom here. Nikki asks if weapons and wars will be needed in the future, and Yunikina says that newfound freedom, like a baby bird, must be protected by a Snow Eagle until it can fly. Yunikina's eyes are always sad. People admire her, but don't understand her. Nikki feels bad for Yunikina, since she hates wars but will continue to fight, but she reassures Nikki that it is her duty and her destiny. She looks at the grave calmly, and says that the land awaits spring, but they will remain in the cold winter. Their fallen comrades as well as her will stay there. It's a tradition of Snowland, she says, that the old protect the young and watch them grow. She turns around and looks at Nikki tenderly. She asks Nikki if that day will eventually come. Nikki is surprised that she knows she is from the future, but Yunikina simply says she has such a kind aura, and so must have grown up in a warm place. She smiles at the flower in Nikki's hand, and asks if she will put it in her hair. She obliges, and looking at Yunikina, she realizes she is just an ordinary girl who likes flowers. Yunikina vows to protect White Rock City and Snowland, but says that Nikki and the player do not belong there. She tells them to cherish the peace and freedom they have. Nikki promises she will, and tells her that those all across Miraland will remember this war.

Loen says that the place was converted into a memorial 30 years ago, and now displays many war relics. Tang Hupo asks Nikki if she'll do her a favor by modeling for their brochure for the hall. Tang Hupo says they should start with something familiar - a metal canteen, seemingly worn from hard times. She says its a standard canteen for Snow Eagles, and Nikki compares it to the canteens she used in her military training at college. It was carefully designed to withstand the tough winter of the North Kingdom. Despite its shabby looks, it can keep water warm for over 6 hours. Nikki wonders what kind of person the owner was. Loen says he may have just been a common soldier, but no matter what, he's an integral part of history.

Tang Hupo shows them a bow, which she says was a hunting tool rather than a weapon. The bowstring is broken, and the bow is wrapped with a faded red tassel. According to Loen, many Snow Eagles were farmers, and so this bow was used for hunting before the war. At the time, all North Kingdom houses had a bow to hunt with. Now, they use shotguns. Loen tells Nikki that they should go hunting together someday.

Tang Hupo shows them a few small cylinders with fuses on them, asking them to guess what they are. Momo asks if they're fireworks, and then Nikki asks if they're signal flares. They are, and were used by scouts to produce bright light visible even through a blizzard. However, using it risks revealing your position. Loen says that it's said that a soldier from a squadron trapped in a valley fired a flare. His fellow comrades were rescued, but he was caught and killed. Nikki says that he must be a great man. Loen says that communication equipment can reduce casualties in wars, but perhaps eliminating wars is the best way to reduce casualties.

Finally, they arrive at Tang Hupo's favorite part - a painting in a golden frame. It shows Yunikina, surrounded by her wounded soldiers, on her horse and raising her sword as the sun rises behind her. Tang Hupo says that whenever she sees this painting, she gets emotional. Nikki asks if Yunikina is wearing the legendary Ode of Frosty Sword, but Loen says it's not. No portrait of Yunikina actually remains from her time, all of them having been created based off legends and imagination years after the battle.

A flimsy, yellowed parchment lies in the showcase, its writing barely legible. Loen says that this unsigned parchment was found in Cangyu City a few years ago along with some other artifacts. Researchers have identified it as an authentic one of Eagle's early works. Since most of his poems were passed down through singing, the discovery of a manuscript on paper caused a sensation. The poem mentions the sound of birds, the wind, and the snow coming from a birch forest on an early winter morning. Tang Hupo says it's a pity that the most legendary manuscript by Eagle wasn't preserved - the one written before he was killed. It has only one sentence, but is very powerful. Nikki seems to already know it, and says aloud, "To Yunikina and our snowy plains..." much to Tang Hupo's surprise. She says she thinks she saw it on a brochure.

Momo calls out for Nikki to pay attention as Tang Hupo regales them with the tales of Yunikina's plans to attack White Rock City. She can see the exhibition, and her memories of the Snowland feel like a dream. Nikki finishes the story for her, saying that Yunikina seized White Rock City with her soldiers, bringing peace and spring to the Snowland. Tang Hupo is impressed, since she hasn't gotten to that part yet. A statue of Yunikina stands in the middle of the hall, her blue eyes looking tenderly at Nikki. Nikki says that she thinks Yunikina doesn't want people to remember her as an invincible valkyrie, but rather her determination to fight for freedom and protect it. Even today, the legend of the Snow Eagles has been passed down. Suddenly, Tang Hupo calls Nikki over to the window. A golden ray of sunlight shines on Yunikina's statue, and the sword in her hand sparkles in the light of freedom and the future. |
